Hi Dave,

the SA11 cd player is balanced as is the matching ampI don't think the 15 amp and CD is. The SA11S1 is a mighty fine CD player;)not heard the amp though as I'm a valve fan!

Both look awesome, love over engineered Jap hardware (high end Denon, Sony ES, Marantz etc)....

Alas never heard either of them, but looks alone, buy them, buy them now

It sounds pretty good with my HD 650's, but then I haven't heard any dedicated amps :Not Sure:

I doubt the headphone output on the CD player is as good as a dedicated type but it's still very good imo. The CD player is very good for £1k, I compared it to £1500 machines (AVI Lab, MF and my old Naim CDX) and it fared very well indeed, better build than the others with more boogey factor. Liked the sound so much I found a second hand SA11S1 which was a lot smoother (But then it should be)

you could buy a nice real wood burning fire for a house in tierp sweden instead.
