For sale a truly beautiful and amazingly rare pair of John Howes Quad II's.

If you know John from Audio Jumble and his Lowther collection he needs no introduction. A real connoisseur of hifi, he built less than 10 of these sets I believe in 2009.

I've owned them for nearly 10 years, bought via the Wam from Marthas Dad. Lot's of Wammers have heard this very pair and been much loved.

I've run a wide range of speakers with these, Tannoy Cheviots, Klipsch Cornwalls, Zingali, Harbeth, Marshall Choong, Spendor, etc and they have never put a foot wrong. Can be paired with both powered or passive pre amps (I ran them with a Music First Classic).

Excellent condition, I really look after my stuff, serviced by John about 5 years ago.

They come with a set of valves plus plenty of spares. All the valves in the amps work but I can't vouch for every spare as I'm not able to test them but I think they are all good.

Includes-
2 x full sets
plus 10 x 5B-255m and 4 x ECC82.

Prefer collection due to weight / packing but can arrange courier at buyers cost.

I live in Brighton, viewing welcome although I can't demo as I now run actives and no speakers / pre to demo with. You are welcome to bring your own gear if you would like to demo.

Exquisite amps which I've heard on many occasions with several different speakers. They've shined on all occasions. I think they are weirdly underpriced.

Yes - used to be mine!
Possibly amongst the best valve amps I have ever owned. I have had a couple of pairs, sold them on, regretted it and took a few years before I found another pair which are now securely locked away in cupboard for another day. Not letting them go this time as they are very hard to find these days. GLYWTS and I agree - underpriced.
