Just released is a brilliant review of the Next Generation Klimax DSM/AV on Soundstage Ultra, written by Aron Gerrecht. The article covers a lot of technical information that is mentioned in the design and development of the Klimax DSM Music, AV and Hub with input and interviews with the actual engineers at Linn that designed the new Next Generation Klimax products and the Organik DAC.

I found this to be one of the most comprehensive reviews, of this product, digging into the inner workings of Linn’s products in engineering and design, and their philosophy of creating these new Klimax products.

I have known Aron for more than 10 years and first met him when I bought a Classé SSP 800 Surround Processor from him.

I have had the privilege of visiting his home a few times a year, for the last 10 years or so, to listen to a myriad of audio electronics and speakers that he is reviewing, but for this current review I was not able to visit

There are some omissions from the article, such as no mention of the Selekt lineup. I would have loved to have visited with him to see if I could have facilitated his application of Space Optimisation v2

But overall, Aron concludes that this is best sounding DAC streamer that he has ever heard

Thanks ‘troll

Yes, this is the same link as what I have in my post above.
Ah, my comment wasn’t actually aimed at you Paul! All I saw was Jail’s post under the heading and assumed he’d posted the Norah Jones image instead of a link to the article. Hence my confusion. Thanks for confirming, it is a good review.

The review as a problem with the analogue inputs. May be he should have used the Urika II Exakt input but then again he would have needed the Radikal ! Oh and the LP12.

I’ve only ever seen this comment about the analogue inputs in an earlier review - was he just covering himself? What they seem to miss, is that a device like the KDSM/3 will show your analogue device in all its true glory - warts and all. Is that a fault of the DSM?

Last time I visited Aron’s home, he did not own a turntable, so it must be a new addition.

Yeah, it would be nice if he had access to a Klimax LP12

Surprisingly, Linn has approached 2 reviewers from Soundstage to review the NGKDSM, this review on Soundstage Ultra and Soundstage Australia.

I just reread Aron’s review of the Klimax DSM AV and extremely impressed and interested in his conversations with the Linn engineers that designed the products and his interactions with other Linn staff.

This is the best review I have seen that gives insight into the design and technical features, which address fundamental issues that resulted in significant improvements in sound quality.

I was especially interested in Linn’s approach to address EMI shielding with their new Klimax casework and isolation critical components from each other, that is an evolutionary step forward from the previous generation of Klimax casework.

I was also interested in Linn’s approach to mitigation of internal vibrations with the new casework, footers, isolation damping of the individual circuit boards, as well as the shear mass of the casework from a single billet of aluminum.

Reading Murray Smith’s explanation of the 8 layer circuit boards with better isolation and reduced signal path length as well as other design features was of interest as well.

I hope to have one someday on my shelf, as a fine addition to my system.

Definitely - good review, but was surprised ….

he didn’t use a quality turntable; in fairness only heard Project TTs twice, but was totally underwhelmed. Had Sumiko cartridge and glad when I was able to trade it.

by his opening comments on EMM Labs, which I auditioned when on a DAC hunt. I felt I could do better for the outlay and be amazed if a well setup Linn system did not outperform It.

However, this is always my feeling with subjective reviews (different ears, different music, different room) and I found the objective part informative.
