Ok, I'm biased but when 16 in 1980, I fell for this album in a big way. I've listened it to on a stack of systems and yet here I am in 2013 still enjoying the sounds it makes. I love it

Fretless bass

Fairlight synths

Clever vocals

Kates dreamy sounds and wierd subject matter. I know La Bush is not for everyone, but if she works for you I wonder what you like about this spinner ?

The last track (Dreaming) is not only haunting but a real system test [try hearing all the background vocals] and really of its time. I love records, but this is a masterpiece of 1980. Or.... Is it ?

Big Kate Bush fan here, but her last two releases have been poor for different reasons.

Director's Cut - Dreadful, shitty recording sounds like a duvet has been thrown over the speakers, which is a shame because I liked the remixes.

50 Words For Snow - just pants, but I have to accept that's highly subjective.

Everything else has great merit.

I didn't think much of 50 words either, didn't bother buying it. But then I put aerial on a couple days ago and I've fell out of love with it too.

Never for ever is a great album, so is hounds of love obviously. :^

I wouldn't write her off that soon, it's only one release, and it's only one opinion. jkbmusic from on here is a big Kate Bush fan and he loves 50 Words (I think)

Never for Ever is a splendid album. Maybe because I grew up listening to it. Maybe because it's so dreamy. Anyway I love it. The only track I truly hate is Violin.

And the last track, Breathing, has great lyrics and KT screaming at the end... excellent.

Directors Cut was a classic "screw the punter" album. Apart from that I cannot fault any of her albums, early or later.

Who me? . I'm a big fan of any good music, and in my opinion Kate Bush has not produced a duff album yet. All of her albums can be dipped into at any time, and can still be listened to without any cringing. None of the "That sound like a dodgy 80's album" .

As for the Directors cut, and 50 words, both albums have been played to death on my system. Aeriel is kept for special occasions, when I want to loose myself in an album of great depth and diversity. When you hear certain tracks, like Pi, or 50 words, I think WTF:shock:?, then when you "Get it" it all falls into place. It's a shame fans have to wait so long in between her latest albums, but when they do come along, they are with waiting for. I think for the price of a CD, it is worth trying any of her albums, especially from Hounds of Love onwards, if you don't like or can't stand them, just sell it on, or better still give them away. All just my opinion of course.
