Try emailing him and discussing your plans with him - or just have a good look on his website.

The guy certainly seems to know his stuff and I believe there are a few people on here who have had their kit lampizatored and liked the results.

I built his speakers and they are great, he's a nice guy too. Mod away, tube CD players are the most fun :^

Would love to hear his level 5 or 6 Dac. Can't afford it. Well worth a punt if you have the know how to do the mods.Lucky you would really like to have a go at that sort of stuff but wouldn't know where to start

Not even sure how easy/difficult the mods are to put in? No real' child's play!' on his site. Am I to assume that they are only for electronic enthusiasts and not some incompetent moron like me?? Better email him again.

I am not an electronic engineer, but I have been building things from when I was about 9 years old, and found the Lampizator mods and circuits fine to read and build.

Take time looking at the circuits and plan where you will place the mods before hand, then you should be OK.

Diyhifi forum is a good source of help if you get stuck.

Good results can be had, it rekindled my DIY ing after a 20 year layoff.

Cheerz, Alex.

Why not try buying a cheap DAC, say a £50 used jobbie, and Lampize that? If you like it, simply remove it from the DAC and wire it into your CD player. That would be a nice no-risk approach. You could do it on a breadboard for the testing phase.

Actually, I think I'll do my Dac-in-the-Box now :)

The overall idea was to' pimp ' my cd player with a radical new box, the dac is quite good in the a3.2 but would like to smooth it out using the triode and possibly upgrade the clock with a trichord or maybe the lampizator clock. I don't have a lot of time or money to do varying projects, so would like to do it right first time. Would prefer to give the electronic work to someone with adequate experience if I can't manage it.....

Have a word with Fidelity Audio or check out there site!

Upgrade allmost any audio equipment, and suppliers of high grade clocks , components etc.

With DIY Audio forum( loads of info on there as said)

, and with Brents help & advice transformed my old Marantz cdp & Audio Note Dac!

Did the work myself took a few wrong turns on the way but got there in the end.

Great fun!!

I cant speak highly enough of Lukasz or his 'kits' I have used quite a few over the last 9 months or so building a few 'transports' and dacs for friends ..... I would be inclined not to 'bastardise' your player but perhaps build a dac first and use your players digital out .... then maybe if you really like the tube dac idea you could progress and do the tubed sp/dif mod to your player .... I now use my own version of his transport (based on logitech duet reciever) and put simply it sounds better than any other cd spinner I have heard regardless of cost .... so fire up that soldering iron, you wont regret it .... nirvana awaits and besides its great fun

That looks very nice Peter. Mike is it one of Lukasz current Level kits or an earlier design? Some of this higher level stuff is very expensive. Would love to hear one but at €6000k plus it wont happen anytime soon.Fair play to you great skill to have. Is it 16/44 or can it do higher rates?

Thanks Mike, Not actually on facebook so that's out. Actually spoke to a chap at trichord about clocking my player and he said he would fit the lampizator mod for a reasonable extra cost. Just got to get hold of lucasz now.

That leaves me to concentrate on "The box of all boxes". A feast of metal, anodising, plating and various damping techniques on the transport and suspension legs. hopefully turn out well.......?!
