Owners and former owners what power amp works well with the Leemas?

I am using a Trimodal 30watt class A but I remember reading they like a powerful amp to get them singing, tried a Naim 160 recently but did not like it.

I used a pair of Acurus A250s. 250wpc. That definitely got them singing!

OK, so that much amplification isn't really needed, but yes - give them something to chew on. I also used a Gryphon Callisto 2200 with them, which worked superbly.

The nice thing about the Xaviers is that there is an amp in every budget which will suit. I regret selling mine.

I'm using 950W of Bryston 14bsst into mine.

I spoke to Lee about best options and he recommended plenty of clean grunt!

I used Quad 909 until the Leemas were served with a SWMBO banning order because they're not pretty. Now using Sony F570ES in my study where prettiness doesn't count (just as well in my case). Both have gruntaplenty.

Great to hear! Well, so to speak... Lovely speakers. We'll ever-so-quietly agree that women don't understand the inherent beauty of the Xaviers, shall we? ;-)

Not pretty?

It's not like they've got a scary 15" bass unit and ratted matt-black finish!

Though Lee also told me they were discontinued because they were "too big for the average UK living room"!

I'm still looking forward to finding a pair of Xandas...

My Wife hates the look and size of my Xaviers - perform brilliantly with AVI Integrated, and DIY 200w pc T amp based pwer amp.

Spare a thought for MY wife, who was taken on a 1000 mile round trip to the Isle of Arran to fetch my Avantgarde Duos, which are by no means traditional walnut boxes!

(Now replaced by non too standard Ocellias!)

Not to mention the Leak 3090s in main room?

I loved my Xaviers (Damian dg etc now has them).

Worked well with high power solid state or low power valves (Cary 15wpc triodes).

You just can't fault them, really.

Easy to drive, imo, although you can shove a lot of grunt up them if you like.
