Lindemann equipment - any views?

Does anyone have any experience of this company? I have a credit note with a retailer that stocks them and could opt for this:

The preamp, as far as I can tell, has controls that can change the input sensitivity and the output gain (other than a volume control!). These are useful features, especially as the power amp I am using is far better with balanced inputs, but has quite high sensitivity for balanced connection, ie, 1V.

From an engineering poit of view, how might this equipment alter gain settings?

I've only heard their SACD/CD players, which were absolutely top notch - seriously good.
