An email has just dropped into my mailbox about a new Linn Tonearm called the Arko priced at £3000 recommended to be paired with a Kendo cartridge. Any more news, is it a replacement for an existing arm or a new produce price point?

Can anyone share?

Regards SBM

Just been reading the "New announcement " thread which has a lot of information and discussion on the new arm and two cartridges so this thread is redundant. Apologies I am always late to the party! 😎

I was thinking that if I was going to shell out £3000 on a new tone arm then the extra for the Ekos was not too bad. Of course it depends how good the Arko is when compared to the Ekos - has anyone heard one yet either on its own or against an Ekos - I suspect the real decision can only be made when the comparison tests and reviews have been made. My main concern is how the Arko sounds in comparison to my Ittok because if only marginally better then the Ekos would still be the one to look to get.

That would be my big question: Arko or Ekos 2?

Considering the age of the Ekos and Ekos 2, plus the fact that none of these arms really offers any exacting set up calibrations, the new arm should be the easy choice. IMO.
Well, given that the inflation adjusted price of the Ekos 2 would be $4000, I'm not sure what we can say about a $3000 arm in comparison(?)

Keeping in mind that the Ekos and Ekos 2 are now several years old, which also means that their overall wear is commensurate to their age. This cannot be said about the new Arko arm.
