I am totally ignorant of Linn streamers and what they can and can not do but I do like how they sound, so please help me out.

I want to be able to stream Spotify and Tidal, that is essential. Internet radio would be nice as would other facilities and functions to explore but they are not a deal breaker.

Given that this unit is up to date in terms of firmware/software, an overview of its capabilities would be very helpful.

Dave, you may recall I’m on my second Linn streamer, and they do everything you mention. They also stream Airable, another radio source similar to Tunein with Radio Paradise HD streams amongst others. The Space Optimisation (SO) system can be selected from an online Linn account, which also controls various settings like input labels or output volume. SO allows for less than ideal speaker placement, for example.

Here is a screenshot with the various tabs showing (mine is also a preamp, so a Majik DS won’t be identical). This shows settings for streaming services. To actually operate the streamer, there are several apps including Linn’s own, and alternatives such as Lumin’s.

The DS is controlled by Linn Kazoo (link to details below) and as the streamer is updated with the latest firmware its functionality is the same as current Linn DS,s https://www.linn.co.uk/uk/support/software-apps

You're ad got my attention, I rather like the sound of Linn streamers when I have heard them but have always been put off by the multitudes of different models and the high cost of the new models.

So I have been doing my home work researching the different models and their capabilities, so thanks for that, it has been helpful.

Happy to help ...have had a Linn DS now for fifteen years & wouldn't have any other Digital Source....
