For Sale Lockwood Major Speakers

Hi All it is with great regret I am having to downsize my system
I am selling my Lockwood Majors built by Daniel Timms at Lockwoodloudspeakers
He is the third generation building these
Drivers were re-coned by Lockwood Audio
They sound (to my ears)absolutely fantastic
They use upgraded crossovers especially made for Danny for these speakers
They are in American walnut cabs and look stunning
They are on wheels so easy to set up
They weigh 75 kilos
Dimensions are 113cm x71cm x 45cm HWD

Heard a few Lockwoods over the years . A friend of my late uncle had an original pair
Such a compelling sound ..

THE LOCKWOOD MAJOR​

The Lockwood Major is the Grandfather of the Legends, designed in the early 60's the Major found its home in most of the major studios of the time from Abbey Road, to Trident to De Lane Lea to name a few. Producing the sound for artist like The Beatles, The Who, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Elton John, Led Zeppelin and Super Tramp.
The Major is fitted with a 15" Tannoy Gold, Silver or Red.
The cabinet is constructed in the finest Birch Ply, laminated in real wood veneers and finished with 5 coats of finest Danish Oil.
The Major gives a sound to remember !

What amplification do you/ have you used with these and in what size of room?

I have used a Jean Hiraga Lectron Jh50 el34 amplifier with Audio Note M3 linestage or Dave Slagle Autoformer
I am using Tube Distinctions Soul amplifiers and Soul Mate preamp
Room is 6x3 m so not big
