I'm looking for suggestions on some mains leads which have a particular UK plug on - Furutech FI-1363

furutech_fi-uk_1363g_1-2.jpg

I know Mains-Cables-R-Us have a few cables with this type of connector on and Furutech themselves have some made-up cables that use it. I'm after some recommendations really. I will need at least 3 with standard IEC and a couple of Fig.8 leads with a budget of no more than £200 a piece.

Part of the reason is I've got an Isotek Sigmas and the way the sockets are at the back really favours this type of connector over traditional UK plugs which, when fitted with large dia. mains cable don't fit in too cleverly as the cable is bent awkwardly as it touches the shelf the Sigmas is sat on.

My equipment list should be on the left.

Many thanks in advance, Gary.

I'd put the £1,000 toward some better speakers (I'd sell the Isotek as well to release even more funds). :minikev:

If you're happy with your current leads why not modify the shelf?

Hardly surprising when someone suggests spending more on plugs than his speakers are worth

Anyway, I haven't seen any evidence of "taking the piss" ....... yet!

Paul's advice is spot on. The plugs will make no difference to the SQ, but investing in some new speakers would, by a large margin.

Quite Paul.

A further cause of us taking the piss so much on here is that many of us have worked in Tannery's 'Man & Boy' & taking the piss is rather part of ones job description.

Maybe someone could recommend a cheaper plug that could accommodate the cable exiting out the back?

OP, are you looking for this specific plug or is it this style of plug?

Normal mains cables and plugs + better speakers = much win.
:goodone:

Agreed mark.

In the interest of giving rather than taking. I can provide Garysan with 73 litres of 'Truckers Tizer' for no charge other than postage costs. :^

Missing Link EPS-600 UK mains plug - similar style/rear exit for large dia cable - £30 each

- plenty of others may prefer to answer questions you are not even asking....

The Isotek may well be worthwhile.

Even as generally a 'no foo' merchant these days, my Isotek Substation is going nowhere. Anyone who has heard the difference mine made at Scalford to my system year after year knows the potential benefits.

Mind you, the Substation here is three separate channels of no-nonsense, serious current, transformer isolation that weighs about the same as my house. No idea if yours is similar or not.

As for the cables, if the physical nature is the issue, buy the cheapest ones with decent connectors you can find.

And, with all due respect, as others have suggested, spend the rest on making changes that will really make a difference...
