So the decorators have nearly finished and it's time - one day ahead of schedule - to unveil a bunch of lovely "new" Linn kit.



Specifically, amplifiers have been upgraded to a Linn Klimax Kontrol and a pair of Linn Klimax Solos. The addition of the Quadraspire rack has also allowed the LP12 to take back its rightful position as sole owner of the Sound Organisation table.

World Party's Goodbye Jumbo () is an album that I love, and have heard hundreds of times. But, it's like I'm hearing an old friend for the first time again. So familiar, but, so different. I can see the "Volume+" button getting a lot of use in the coming weeks

I too use a Klimax Control (KK/1), It's a superb pre-amp. I also love 'Goodbye Jumbo'; a great album to begin your vinyl rediscovery. Congrats.

Yes, that thought had crossed my mind.

I noted @ThomasOK's comments on the likelihood of Utopik being made available for the Klimax Kontrol with interest. If so, that'll be four boxes in total, so here's hoping for a "buy one get one free" offer .

From memory, the Dynamik upgrade for the 350s was considerably more than double the price of a source component. I’ll have to see if I still have the receipts (unlikely)

Utopik or no Utopok, you’ve got yourself a mighty fine amp combination there. I’ve yet to hear it bettered, and that’s on the basis of the humble Dynamik power supply.

I was including the Lingo 4. I count Uphorik, Lingo, Klimax Kontrol, Kimax Solo, and Klimax Solo. That would be five. What am I missing?

From the Linn box count, nothing, that's the lot. I wouldn't expect Utopik to be available for the Lingo. Even if it were, I suspect that I'd pass on that and go Radikal instead.

Much higher amperage would be the reason, I guess. Whatever the deal is, if there is a deal, I'll take it and be happy. Upgrading is optional after all.

As it turns out, I misquoted myself. I am backtracking here quite a bit. The Dynamik promotion was buy a component, e.g. DSM, and get a free Dynamik for a component you already own.

Sorry about that rather misleading mistake. I've got to stop relying on my memory. But I'll probably forget to do that as well.

I'm expecting that it will certainly be available for the Lingo 4. I haven't been inside one for a little while but if I remember correctly it is the same MiniLine power supply that is in the Radikal units. But I would certainly be in sync with your desire to upgrade to a Radikal instead!

Lingo 4 and Radikal 2 have a very different music reproduction. I know several people (who like 70s Rock music) who prefer the (Naim like?) punch of the Lingo 4.

I like the filigree music with the Radikal 2. Timing is much better but less „in the face“.

I have recently upgraded my deck with Karousel and Lingo 4...replaced Cirkus and original Lingo....
Really tightened up the timing and 'prescence' of the LP12..well worth the investment.
Radikal wasn't in the picture because I'd purchased a KDS/3 and the Organik upgrade...
Overall I'm very happy with both analog and digital replay...
Will probably get the Utopik psu when it's available....
