Was playing Walk on the Wild Side yesterday testing the 240. Great artist. First heard it on a pub juke box whilst way underage drinking in Wigan on a Thursday night back in 1972. Shows how great music makes a lasting impression.

He's looked seriously ill for a number of years now due to a past filled with drugs, alcohol and otherwise overcooking life, but in his creative context it was no doubt part of what defined him, post liver transplant he never picked up.

Great Loss to 20th Century culture.

Shame, one of the greats, IMO. Didn't realise he was married to Laurie Anderson though, used to really like her.

Most of the world would probably say "Who?" Their loss, and now ours.

So sad as 71 is no age.
It is if you live like he did!

A life well lived if you asked me. I'm sure he had no regrets and he left behind some brilliant music. I raise my glass..!

This is a two bottle Sunday night. :(

"One chord is fine," he once said, alluding to his bare-bones guitar style. "Two chords are pushing it. Three chords and you're into jazz."
