Hi,
There is something really weird happening since I have my new turntable/cartridge.
On almost every record, the stylus is full of dust and it’s almost not listenable.
This really really strange as it did not happen so often with previous configuration …
Thanks for your help.
Quite simply, your LPs aren't clean enough.
The Dynavector has a micro-ridge stylus. Like Shibata and microline profiles, they go a lot deeper into the LP grooves. This is much better for reproduction, LP life and (usually) surface noise, but records need to be clean.
At the very least, I suggest investing in something like the spin clean wet cleaner. If you have enough LPs and you're going to take it all seriously, then some sort of record cleaning machine is worthwhile. An ultrasonic one or any of the wet vacuum machines. I've had one for decades and would not be without it. The s**t than comes off the average record is amazing.
Either way, you should always wipe over an LP with a cleaning brush before playing, or the stylus will accumulate dust.
