Now that we have changed over to streaming which we are enjoying very much, we have also made some other changes to the system.

We are in the process of changing over from the Naim PowerLine Lite to the Naim PowerLine for all the Naim components.

The problem is that this will not fit the Linn Klimax DS3 as the IEC plug is too large. So been using the PL Lite and also trying the Titan Audio Nyx, but to be honest, we don’t like the look if it.

So my question is, what mains power cable do other Forum Members use on their Linn Klimax DS3?

It will be helpful if those who reply confirm which country they are located in - unless it is obvious from their profile - because British mains systems are quite different from those in the EU or USA, for example. Were it me, I’d be happy with Linn’s supplied cable, as I am with my Akurate DSM - though I use ’audiophile’ cables elsewhere.

I use the standard Naim leads on all my equipment.

Unlike the Powerlines, they fit despite the Klimax rear overhang. I wouldn't dream of using the various non-standard crap manufacturer's cables that Linn supply, and nor would my dealer! They used to do home-dems for me of Naim v Linn various versions of cables.

Stock Linn cables for the NGKDSMH and KRadikal 2. Aftermarket Triplite 14 gauge (<$10) on the Akubariks. All happening in the USA.

Edit: I just noticed that you are asking in reference to the DS/3.
Yes, it has the deep overhang on the top side.

I’ve been looking at the Chord Mains Cables, namely, the Shawline and Epic.

They seem to have some good write ups, plus they appear to be well designed and aesthetically pleasing as they will be on show in the lounge, which is also doubles up as the listening room.

You could ask Mark Grant Cables or MCRU as both can supply boutique mains cables suitable for traditional Klimax cases. I use Mark Grant mains leads on my Chord Choral system as they look nicer than the ones Chord Electronics supplies.

Downstairs is all Linn apart from the Spendor speakers. I found these mains cables are excellent https://www.paragonnetworks.co.uk/s...k-mains-bs1363-10a-plug-to-female-iec-320-c13

The Chord Company ARAYs probably sound as good as the ones from Paragon. However, I tend to avoid products from Chord Company. Some Chord Company cables sound different (e.g. speaker leads), but I much prefer standard studio cables from Van Damme and Canare.

That said I find Linn supplied leads fit perfectly and the sound quality of the system is superb. The only piece of Linn kit you’d see on display in my lounge is the LP12 so not overly concerned on how the mains leads look.

That is a good solution, and allows a lot of options for mains leads.

For my Klimax Hub, I have a custom made adapter from Audio Sensibilities, made from Furutech components. This allows me the possibility to use whatever mains cables I choose.
Not sure if it make sense to invest in an expensive power cable and than use an adapter?

I still use Linn cables.

I find the cable that comes with my KDS/Organik quite sufficient...

I really don‘t understand anything about that topic. But cable manufacturers claims about perfect plugs and than use an adapter?
Everything they say is a big pile of convoluted nonsense. To anyone with any technical/engineering background, it's laughable. Self-contradiction won't discourage believers from handing over cash.
