Marantz CD 75 Mk2 v CD52 Mk2 SE

How do these two old CD players compare in the Marantz quality/price hierarchy? I use an old CD75 mk2 in my study, but have seen a CD52 mk2 SE in a local second hand shop for not very much. I can’t seem to help picking up CD players like this ‘in the wild’. Is the 52 a step up from the 75? Thanks.

I can’t speak to the comparison but my memory of my old CD52Mk2SE is fond. First foray into hifi.

Personally I would rate the 75 MK2 higher. It has the TDA1541A DAC and a CDM1 MK2 mech. Both are higher level components than those on the 52 MK2.

I love the CD52ii - i have two !

Rich musical vinyl like sound - preferred it even to a Roksan Caspian M2 and Marantz SA KI Ruby ! I do however now prefer my Marantz SA14S1SE, or a CD Transport into a Denafrips Pontus 2 DAC
