Just bought this for the kitchen and I'm very impressed. For a mono DAB tuner the sound is incredible, very bassy and warm which makes for an inherently musical piece of kit. No matter which station is on, the content is farmore 'listenable' than on practically any piece of kit I've ever heard - including my hifi. I could listen to this thing for hours.Thoroughly recommended.

I've got the Sonus X-1T and find it a wonderful piece of kit (yours looks nicer though).

I'm a bit of a philistine when it comes to radio and love DAB (cant be doing with the hassle of normal tuners)

The format is superb for portable radios IMO. I love mine and find I'm listening to it more than my hifi

. It does help that I just love some of the radio stations, nothing on FM does it for me (although Glens has recommended Radio 3 and I keep meaning to give that a try)!:nerd:

How many fingers can you slip under that carrying rod?
I don't want to stretch it...

That's not the way to carry your lunchbox.

Must agree, this Pure Evoke looks nice. Lovely LED display and retro knobs. Even the champagne gold plate is nice. Fantastic name too - Marshall:hom:

The Sonus I have has a fancy touch sensitive handle that turns the alarm off and instigates the"tell the time" feature- great for the sleepy morning and a deep husky female voice that tells the time (can change to a bloke if you really want to

Hmmm... I think a bit of my CDP money may go on one of these at some point: I need a bijou clock-radio for the landing-pad in the Earl's Chick-o-drome :raoflmfao:

I've thought about the extension stereospeaker but at £35 do I really need it?

...the answer is probably.

They have a metal antennae which stretches to nearly 3 foot. Mains powered but can be battery depending upon model - best check website!

Dont know how to define excellent reception but I cant get decent freeview in my area but get great DAB!

So is this a mains or battery jobby? And do these things need excellent reception, do they come with any form of aerial?
The limited edition Marshall is mains powered only and the aerial is good, we live in a 'dodgy' DAB area according to the websites yet the reception is brilliant. This does all depend though so I'd check availability in your area.
