hi all, not sure how to set this if i can, but when i copy albums from dbamp and then open in media monkey, if its a compilation it spreads the albums tracks in their alphabetical order when i just want the album to show. its making the library very messy to navigate ,

cheers

Not entirely sure that I understand the problem but with compis, I make sure the 'album artist' tag is set to 'various artists' and then the 'artist' tag is set to the actual artist. Maybe this is the solution?

Yes.

Sometimes you need to understand the e.g. computer-OS sys you choose to use/effect what works - for you in your context.

I am still awaiting proper HDD digital offline £150 HDD R/C analogue readout server, but can superbly improvise.

Good luck - enjoy the sounds/music.

what i want to view in media monkey is just the album cover not an album cover for every artist and track on that album, some compilations are fine most not, and then when i want to listen to the album, the albums tracks are listed, hope this makes a bit more sense

I think the problem is what I described. I don't use Dbamp so I can't advise on that but in Mediamonkey, make sure that the library colum for album artist is visible (right click on top of columns and tick album artist) and then order by album artist. It could be that Dbamp has tagged your album artist the same as artist which will cause the album to be listed by all the different artists rather than grouped by a single artist - as it expects an album to be. . If so then select the tracks from the album and hit shift and enter at the same time. A dialogue box will appear. Find album artists text box and enter various or various artists. This will then allow media monkey to group the compilation album by the fictitious album artist 'various artists' or whatever u entered. It should then look at the album name as the title of the album and if the individual artists are entered in the artist tag then it should be able to display this on a per-track basis.

Hope this helps.
