Michell Gyrodec Rega arm

As a leaving present to a colleague the department I work in have decided to buy him a Gyrodec SE, there are a lot of us, I have been tasked with sourcing one.

Now I have seen a few good deals via dealers who allow the arm to be selected as "Rega" or "Technoarm" before the checkout process but it doesn't tell you what Rega arm it would be.

So before I go searching high & low I'd prefer to know beforehand, in case of any confusion on the dealers description.

So what Rega arm would be expected to be received on a brand new supplied Gyrodec from a dealer that isn't in stock & would need to be ordered from the factory today ?

I can't help but think that the dealer is the person to be asking about that. ;-)
So the dealer says RB250, do I accept that then if he is wrongly informed :?

Dealers make mistakes so I want to try to ascertain what will be supplied.

Maybe I should contact Michell direct .

It could be different for each dealer as they might buy the arm separate to the turntable although I think Michell do package it as one. I suspect it is likely to be a RB250, 251 or the latest which is the RB202. I think they are all very similar although the RB250 would be my preferred as it has a more secure fixing via a large nut underneath. The others have three hole mounting from above.

Paul, I believe that the 250 is the old version. The dealer may be offering that, but more likely the more modern equivalent. (which I know nothing about)

Im sure he will be very happy to confirm what is on offer.

The last time I checked, the standard Gyro SE was supplied without an arm.

It's probably the dealer that's specifying the arm he's bundling in the deal.

Going with the old stylee single point fixing RB250 would be no bad move.....arguably a better starting point as the simpler bearing yoke + more ideally located armtube bearing housing are said to be a better modding platform than t' RB300. I'd reco also speccing the Michell VTA adjuster & knurled locking fingernut at the point of purchase as this really won't add much to the cost. Its a good idea to do it at this stage as the armboard mounting hole is bored out slightly wider at the top to accommodate the VTA adjuster. Saves having to replace the armboard later if you want to do this & it is only around £30 extra at the point of purchase as the correctly bored out rega fit arm board shouldn't add owt as its an off the peg item AFAIK.

I bought mine (Se) new 3 years ago and it came with an RB 300, I needed to add a vta adjuster with my chosen cart though, adynavector 10x5.

Thanks for all the responses, I asked the dealer & he said " the Rega arm is the one supplied with the turntable from Michell ", so I'm non the wiser.

I have emailed Michell, maybe a call would be the better option.

Why don't you buy from a dealer who actually knows what he's selling?
I would if he would sell at the price this doesn't know dealer sells for, or did do till today.

We were talking nearly £300 difference.

As it happens it was a mistake on his advert & when I asked for clarification today via online chat the price was upped !!

Oh well, Michell pointed me to a dealer who knows what he is talking about anyway.

Michell also quoted a choice of 2 arms, RB202 or RB303 ,
