If you own a Technics SL series turntable and run it as an audiophile deck (not a DJ deck) then this is a must have up-grade. A precision machined bearing for the SL1200 series of turntables now available shipped from the UK. Full details are on the MCRU website.
There isn't really anything I cannot offer to fully pimp up your Techy, I am an authorized dealer for Jelco, Oyaide, Furutech, Stillpoints and many other top brands that manufacture some truly excellent accessories to get the best out of your Techy.
I have first hand experience of many of the tips and tweaks for analogue replay, having owned a Techy for over 20 years, I currently own 4 so I am well placed to advise you on the best way forward if you are just starting out on the up-grade path.
Please do not think that up-grading an SL1200/1210 is too expensive or beyond your reach, it is most definitely not. The unique thing about this turntable is that each tweak or up-grade can be done on it's own progressing as funds allow. There is no need to do all the up-grades at once and many audiophiles are happy with a few selected up-grades such as a new power supply and bearing or a new mat and feet. The Art of Sound forum remains the world's most definitive source for Technics information and indeed the Techipedia is a must visit page if you are serious about extracting the maximum amount of information from those vinyl grooves!
All that remains to write is that the Mike New Bearing is a must have up-grade for Technics owners. Available on my website for £445. It comes with fitting instructions and takes approx. 20-30 mins to install.
