Hi all,
I am part way through restoring a Garrard 401 and making a DIY plinth. I spent the day measuring and marking out the mounting positions on my plinth board but wanted to double check that my thinking is correct......
I have marked out the location of the deck and the centre spindle. The tonearm is an Acos Lustre GST-1, which has a pivot to spindle distance of 222mm. Using a diy protractor I drew an arc 222mm from the spindle and marked the location of the cut-out with the critical 222mm point at its centre. The tonearm is to be mounted parallel to the deck.
Am I correct in thinking that this is all that I need to do, owing to the fact that fine adjustment of the setup can be achieved by moving the tonearm backwards and forwards in its mount - a-la SME tonearms!?
Thought it best to check before I start cutting!!
Thanks in advance.
