I have one in attic. Never really warmed to it as I found it very bright and wearing within my then system - Audiolab 6000 pre and power with mission 700s. Slotted in a Marantz cd63 se ki and things transformed with a smoother detail and delivery.

loved the styling tho.

My experience was similar to Chumpy as well. Loved the look of the thing but I just couldn't warm to the sound at all & was happy to move it on after a very short time with it. To be fair I was finding a lot of CD players at that time a little bright, the exception being a Micromega Stage 3, which was lovely.

Many many years ago I remember demoing one at a dealers in Coventry... Can't really remember much about the sound but do know that it ended with me buying a Rega Planet instead that day. The central loading one not the original ribbed MK1.

Maybe after all the comments your curiosity will wane. :)
It sounds better going into another Dac but overall an underwhelming experience. I gave one away on here.

Thanks for all your views.

The design of this player stood out to me years ago having only been use to seeing black rectangle boxes !

My then local dealer had a system assembled using the matching pre and power amps which i believe all retailed at £800 at the time. They were feeding some B&W 601 s2 speakers costing £200.

Sadly the system was not playing at the time...
