You couldn't be more wrong, if my memory serves me right one tweeter is more than £600.LOL. Could be a bargin though - the tweeter won't be too dear to replace. Can't understand why the seller doesn't fix it - unless there are other issues...
Judging by this site Bob it might be considerably less(unless they are made or customised in-house by SF):You couldn't be more wrong, if my memory serves me right one tweeter is more than £600.
Just so I am clear on this - your car has a tube (that's vacuum tube as in a thermionic valve) amplifier installed in it?!?! :?I use these in the car on the end of a tube amp....http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/ring-radiator-tweeters/scanspeak-illuminator-r3004/6020-00-1-tweeter-small-ring-radiator/And they sound awesome, i imagine spending a bit more would be as good as a permanent fix, if your a bit handy with taking on the speakers.
I don't think any of those would fit this particular sonus faber model. They might "work" but they are the wrong shape to fit into the front baffle.Judging by this site Bob it might be considerably less(unless they are made or customised in-house by SF):http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/ring-radiator-tweeters/
Its got tubes, they glow and it sounds lovely.Just so I am clear on this - your car has a tube (that's vacuum tube as in a thermionic valve) amplifier installed in it?!?! :?
the front was slightly better..LOL, chav-tastic.
Alcantara isnt cheap, but it looks lots better in person, as many things often do.Hideous interior treatment, but that gear lever looks familiar. Escort?
Surely the inside of a car is no place for valves? i mean with all the vibrations surely the microphonics would be horrendous - or is it all for show when the car is parked up? :dunno: Not to mention the lack of ventilation?I remember hearing a spectacular Kondo in car system with valve mono's in the boot. All silver wired. A bit too realistic actually, to the point of being distracting when driving.
Surely SF just fit their own custom fascia to the std tweeter? Maybe that is where the expense comes into it...I don't think any of those would fit this particular sonus faber model. They might "work" but they are the wrong shape to fit into the front baffle.
