Need a thermometer - any advice ?

I need a new thermometer for checking on internal temps of oven roasts and BBQ's, plus the rare occasions I make a caramel or something like that

Can anyone suggest something which they have themselves has used?

I can't say I am massively convined abot the remote control jobbies with the psuedo-walkie-talkie handset. I'm not averse to popping out to the grill for a quick glug of wine and a fag if the meat needschecking every hour.

No, he had a temperature. It was only placed up his arse two or three times, so its relatively clean.

Absolutely excellent piece of kit that I use all the time for cooking and re-heating food. Fast accurate and easy.

Sometimes reconditioned ones come up cheaper on eBay sold by the manufacturer themselves.

Sugar starts caramelising at 160°C. Not sure using you finger is that good an idea!

I bought a cheapy from Amazon that works fine.
