£400 for monoblocs, £600 for CD player. I for one can't wait to hear a New 8000T tuner if they make one, as the old was superb. No 8000a though.

hi, a friend used to have audiolab, then kids came along. he is getting ready to get back into hifi maybe looking at the new audiolab. He has approx £3000 to spend for everything, he has been drouling over the four monos.

Micromega were back in the UK just over a year ago,but looks like distribution has moved for some reason.Don't release much products after the disater of the stage players, which was a shame as there kit is pretty decent.I've had mine for 10 years now.

I leafed through the hifi world, and thought the audiolab kit looked pretty hideous :puke::puke:

I think audiolab has always been a bit of an aquired taste aesthetically :Coool: (<--- need to be Stevie Wonder)

In the end I bought hifi+, the moon i5 is a properly nice looking bit of kit

Sonically its grey. Wouldn't go back. The amp I moved onto afterwards was an Audio Innovations S500 valve amp. The Audiolab served its purpose at the time. Worked well with the original Arcam Alpha cd player which was very characterful. I have them both in storage. Never bothered to sell them. Its an 8000A integrated, if anyone's interested. The 8000A was an improvement on the 8000 , with more character injected to answer criticism that the 8000 was too clinical.
Hiya,

A mate of mine may well be interested in the 8000A amp, PM me with details.

My thoughts exactly; it looks sooooo tacky in silver it's silly.

The new prices are good, but I'm interested in batman's comment about possible compromised quality - any more info? Or is this just speculation based on price?

Pricesare lower because manufacture's been moved offshore.

What that means for quality remains to be seen...

Supposedly, design is based on the last TAG products with "updates" (prob. = cheaper caps etc.)

Personally I like the looks and the prices, and have heard anintegrated I liked from the original range, but would be a sideways move apart, perhaps from the monos...
