"The new Heybrook’s have been completely redesigned by Peter Comeau, with an upgraded set of bespoke drivers along with a twenty-first-century cabinet. By utilising modern manufacturing techniques along with computer aided design, we can now deliver a product consistency which would have been impossible in the 80’s."
So not available again then. LIke the Fiat 500, or VW Beetle, just trading on the name.
And "product consistency" largely means MDF not chipbpoard, which IME doesn't sound as good.

You know when you get older & it's a mixture of cynicism/wisdom..and you think a "new spkr" is just part of someones pension top up plan.
To be fair, I have always thought Peter Comeau to be a great speaker designer. And a lovely man; he sold me the parts to make my own HB3s* in the late '80s when I acquired a pair of empty cabinets from Wilmslow Audio. They may be worth the money, but HB1s they are not.
* I have a pair in my loft system now; I was going to sell them, but decided I like them too much.

Looking forward to a new SBL? Yes, why not?

Looking forward to a new Kan? Hell, no!!!
It will be the Wharfedale E series next ..
They have been a decent investment for anyone who brought a pair in the early 80s and looked after them
The E 90’s go for serious money nowadays .. Making lacquers for Wharfedale in the late 70’s I had many pairs but my favourite was the E70 .

When we look at the prices for these new, old speakers, which seem to be averaging 3k, and I'm thinking of the Mission 770, the Epos Es14, and these new Heybrooks, it's easy to feel exasperated.
However I struggle to think of too many speakers, although I'm sure there are some, that are really good at that price new.
Another interesting view about these three speakers is, they were all heavy hitters back in their day and were arguably better than their rivals for their respective prices.
It's also been 40 -50 years since these speakers original launch and is interesting from the perspective of inflation and perceived value in todays audio market.
I think it is this point of inflationary cost and the perceived value, that miffs us the most, as it highlights to us, just how expensive most new audio equipment is.

Don't mind the price, normal for these days, also stands often cost this much or sometimes much more.
Colours though! - Options say metallic silver or metallic black - I couldn't live with either. Strange that the one in the picture on the link looks white to my eyes! Anyway I have an aversion to anything with a glossy finish so prob not for me.
