The drive belt on my Rock 7 has snapped. Its a large o ring driving the platter circumference via a DC motor. Its a prototype I made years agothat never made it into production. Max got the o ring for me but I dont know where he got it.

Its a 2mm (3/32) section of about 30cm (1ft) diameter. Ive looked but I cant find anything. I could glue it back together but I dont fancy my chances of doing a good job. There are diy o ring kits but they are a bit pricey.

So does anyone know a source of suitable o rings ?

Mind you Im using a bit of fishing line at the moment and its not sounding too bad at all.

I use silk thread. It provides a much more immediate and stable sound than a rubber belt-get a spool of it from your local haberdashers and you'll have enough drive belts for the rest of your life! Don't worry about the knot-it has no effect whasoever.
Cheers

The rubber belt is supposed to damp vibrations transmitted from the motor but that's more of a problem with the ac motor drive. I'm using a dc motor drive so yes the nylon fishing line (or silk ?) does seem to work as well if not better with it. However the dc motor set up is unique and I wont be able to get a replacement if it fails Ive got an ac motor set up as a back up so I'm still looking for a suitable o ring for that.
