Just a brief summary of how it all ended. Of course, all efforts, no matter which country of the offers, to collect the goods personally were doomed to failure. I had a lot of fun with it, but eventually they didn't answer any more.
To cut a long story short, I have now purchased a passive Akubarik in Austria instead of the 242 I was actually looking for. I'm going to pick up the good pieces on Friday and I'm already looking forward to it like a snow king (I don't know if this expression makes sense in English! :)).
So you are as glad as a snow king, freust Dich wie ein Schneekönig? The Schneekönig actually is a bird that does not migrate. Instead this bird, the wren, spends his winter days in the snow, singing happily and beautifully. Just like your new speakers. Makes perfect sense to me.

Yes, I almost fell for a similar scam: A person offered KDSM/Katalyst for 3000 EUR in Prague.
He shared pictures, they were santized and stripped from any metadata. I told him a friend would come and look at it, then suddenly he had moved back to Spain because his wife just had a baby. He refused to share any additional pictures from Konfig etc, and blamed me for trust issues and finally insisted to ship using a small one man company having a fake? website. Wow.. The serial number checked out with Linn. Be careful, it seems you have all been in contact with the same person I had.

On a much smaller scale, someone was purporting to sell a Shunyata venom NR power cable. He didn't follow the insanely low pricing. I checked and emailed him the band on the receptacle should be blue, the cable two colour, and the IEC end should be molded into the cable. No response. It's the first fake Shunyata I've noticed.

Just as good as the original. :)

Cable scams like that are very common. Nordost has had problems with people buying very long Nordost cables, then cutting them up into smaller ones, re-terminating them with who knows what level of quality and using fake branded heat shrink. There is also a seller on eBay that has been trying to sell Linn K800 power cables for years. They are thick, orange and have the Linn name printed on the cable but aren't anything Linn has ever supplied. Buyer beware!

A friend listened to Nordost cables in „normal“ length and was quite happy. Because he only needs 80 cm he ordered this directly at Nordost. The result was very disappointing…

No one told him that there is an optimal musical length (if possible with Nordost cables 😜).
