Have been having a play with a little desktop system today and have been suitably wowed!

We've pretty much overlooked the Parasound Z series in terms of "proper hifi systems" , mostly selling them to customers for use in custom install projects where space is at a premium.
Both systems sounded stunningly accurate with masses of detail and the ZAmp can power both speakers with ease, seemingly plenty of power in reserve. In terms of a desktop system they are attractive as well as tiny and build quality is top notch. Also tried the Parasound combination with a pair of Acoustic Energy Reference 2 with very surprising results, not quite the breadth of scale of full-sized amplifier (against Primare i32) but for the price it did not embarrass itself.
The headphone amp is decent too, driving HiFiMan HE500s with relative ease - again, not on the scale of say a Burson Soloist but not bad, not bad at all....
Happy to demo either or both combinations....
