Just found out that the film has actually been made and been shown at various film festivals, winning quite a few awards.

The trouble is that the Indie film company needs funding to get the film into cinemas and theatres, otherwise it may never get seen, or ever remade by a major studio.

RadioFreeAlbemuth

It certainly looks interesting.

Yeah, it's where I found it, although I clicked on the link and it took me to kickstarter.com.

It's a Manchester United fan forum btw.

Try this one, even though the original link still works.

I'm quite sure that would be worth seeing. Hopefully, even if general release isn't possible, it can be released on DVD. Or, for that matter, download. It works for music.

But if they need funding, how are they going to get it onto DVD?

It's cheaper.

I have direct-to-DVD street rod films that couldn't be big-screen distributed because cost was prohibitive.

Isn't it an even bigger shame that films like this will then be marketed as straight to dvd, which then will have a blackmark against it, just because the major studios won't help.

You'd think that they would want a sizeable profit in doing so.

Absolutely! There's a stigma associated with direct-to-DVD or direct-to-TV which inappropriately, and often incorrectly, suggests the movie is of a lesser quality.

I love the short story collections of PKD and have the five volume set, but I've never read a full novel of his.

I quite like his work, having read A Scanner Darkly, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep and (my favourite) The Man in the High Castle. :^
