I do get why you're posting, but in this age of total commercial control, is what you ask impossible. Pop now, by definition, is never going to break any moulds, and hasn't since the USA 'brewed up' the Monkeys as Beatlealikes.

Rock OTOH should NEVER be mainstream, or it's failed the first hurdle. You can't be revolutionary cool if you're establishment.
