Pre amp recommendations to go with Art Audio Jota.....

Hi All - afer finally selling my Isoblue rack, I now have some cash to spend on a pre amp to go with my Art Audio Jota and Opus 21.

I've got around £800 to spend (second hand preferred/ no real need for phono), and was hoping for a bit of help in making a shortlist. The obvious candidate is Tom's own VP1 and VPS, which occasionally come up around budget, but what others should I be trying to audition please?

When I had a Carissa I tried a few preamps from the likes of McIntosh, Marantz (leftfield) and Mastersound. I kept going back to the VPS Dm from Art is it was as good as the others (in my room/system etc).

However the Mastersound and the McIntosh have a similar warm tone to the Art. It would have been interesting to try the Carissa with something a bit more neutral.
