hi,

i am looking for a Pre Amp with a Remote Control and prefably with an XLR output for around maximum of £200. (Second hand or new)

is there such a product?

might be able to find a pro-product for a reasonable price, but I doubt there are many fully-balanced 'hi-fi' preamps floating around for that money (not to say that there aren't any if you look hard though).

found a Linn LK-1 for £120.

is that good and should i get one with the DIRAK psu or does it not make much of a difference?

could i better it for over £200 with all my requirements?

my advice for all it's woth is save your dosh,, i used to sell linn , it was ok but i found it made fall asleep,personal i guess, question if you don't mind why xlr, balance ?

beacause i want to take the signal out of the pre amp then into my Tannoy TS8 Sub which has a high pass filter (the connectors are XLR) then from that into a power amp then on to my speakers.

so it doesn't neceserally have to be balance circuit desing does it, if not i can ask friends in the retail to see if they have some px stuff,

no probs, let me find out tomorrow to se what they took in p/x. keep informed, by the way i grew up with tannoy spkrs, still got a pair of cheviots brand reconed witch i am going to sell (thanks wife)

at the moment my main pair of speakers are some home made fullrangers with some DC2000's as my second pair.
