I don't tinker myself but I was wondering if anyone has modified and improved the Puresound P10 at all.
It's working fine but I've sent it in for a check over so things could be changed if it's worthwhile.

Cheers

Might be worth getting in touch with Graham67 as I know he did a lot of experimentation with valve rolling on the P10.

Guy will probably help. That said, it's a relatively standard circuit with passive RIAA equalisation and there isn't a great deal you could do to it without risking shifting the equalisation point(s). There are coupling caps that you could probably improve, but you'd need to look and see what would actually fit, as space is a bit tight in some of the versions. The cathode bypass caps could also be bettered, but you need to keep to the original values.

I have emailed Guy. Very helpful and he's asked for a photograph of the interior.
As I'll be paying someone to do the work for me it may not go anywhere but we'll see.

Just in case anyone is interested I had an email back from Guy.
He was incredibly helpful. He pointed out the issues with changing things but did suggest a change of some coupling caps to help with low frequency extension.

He suggested some NOS valves to try too but also said don't spend too much.

It had gone in to be checked over with someone locally so I asked if he could carry out the changes that Guy suggested.
He did the changes and I picked it up yesterday. He even gave me a Mullard to try.

Had a listen last night and first impressions were that the bottom end was slightly better. May have been confirmation bias who knows.

On to tonight and I couldn't wait to try the Mullard. Changed it over and I've been listening to the same albums as last night.
First impressions are very good. It's just better.

Spot the difference
