Hi Alan

Sounds like it could be as simple as setting up Permissions for Shares so they can be seen by devices with the right privileges on your home network. To do this on my Syno NAS I just right click on the folder in question from within Syno's Web Manager control panel, this brings up a dialogue box to set Priviliges/advanced priviliges for the folder in question. I would imagine that it's v similar to achieve this from within QNAPs Web browser control S/W. I daresay there are even "How too/instructions" for doing the set up stuff within the S/W. It should all become fairly intuitive to use in time, my Syno DS213 is peazy compared to my old ReadyNas Duo & I've never had to look any further than the cue sheets within the Web Manager S/W.

hi Chris,

thank you for you're advice,it looks like you are correct, but unfortunately the files are showing and the boxes to tick them to access the files are greyed out.

thank you again,

alan

Sorry to hear that Alan :( ,

At least we seem to be on the right track now & I'm sure this is summat that should be easy to sort out. :^ I know there are a few QNAP NAS users here, prolly who use SBT too, so hopefully someone will pop along to advise soon. I'm sure there must be QNAP user forums too, as well as QNAPs official site, so prolly worth a visit/search on these too + as said have a good squiz within The Web Browser control panel S/W for any suggested user tips.
