Linn can be bought in specialist shops. The dealer then comes home and installs the system. Then the system works. Of course, you can make different demands on your software. I'm happy with it. Don't need software that introduces me to musicians or displays lyrics. I just want to listen to music. By the way, Linn dealers also sell used equipment.
Cheapest is £3,155? People have problems, network, connecting, signing on, software update delays etc. So the dealer will come out everytime you have a problem for free?
Not what I would call inexpensive, to me thats under £1,000. I wonder how much money goes towards the dealer, if they have to provide that service, which is unlike most other brands.
I don't want to advertise a company just because I'm happy with it. The 3000€ refer to a DSM, i.e. a device that includes preamplifiers and streamers. Of course, that's a lot of money, without any ifs or buts. However, there are also pure streamers as used devices, your dealer in your area will be able to advise you. Linn dealers are sustainable and take back devices later on further purchases. But no matter, it's just the way I went.
I may try a Linn streamer if I go to a dealer that has them. Will be interesting to compare the Linn with the Bluesound. £3,000 is way more than I want to spend though.
Going used would be your best option but 1k would buy only first Akurate which IMO isn't greatest , DS3 Katalyst is way better but we're talking just below 3k atm . You don't need a dealer to set it up for you as it should be sort of plug and play but you would need to buy network switch as per my earlier post , cheap TP Link would be good enough , in case of any problems there is lot of guys willing to help but as I said earlier only problem I have experienced was firewall/anti virus settings stopping updates. Only annoying thing is need to install Konfig software to set it up and get updates which should be available in a control app IMO.
I have a switch already, Cisco. Im not really looking to change my Node2 unless this QoBuz issue persists. Apparently QoBuz changed some settings which has affected Apple devices, there is meant to be an Apple update in a few days time. If I do change probably buy a used one for around £500. Some new streamers on the market get good reviews such as the iFi, only £400. There is an Allo also. In the future I may demo some more expensive streamers but still won't want to spend near £3k. There are plenty around £2k new, which used can get for around £1k.
Fair enough , I'd say you're correct at 1k you should be able to get a better streamer than used Akurate DS/0 .

Bluesound suggested if rebooting the Node and then rebooting my router does not work, I use DNS 1.1.1.1 which I have never heard of. Seems to be some sort of VPN which could be good for security.
