I know which pins from the irritating Quadlink ampbus connect from the 99pre to a power amp's xlr inputs, and which pins on the 909 input carry a balanced signal from xlr preamp outputs.

Does anyone know which pins on the 99 preamp's ampbus input would connect a balanced signal via xlr connectors from a CD/DAC?

Pins 3 and 12 seem to be ground as confirmed by a continuity test, but I'd like to know which pins connect to the hot and cold legs of a balanced input.

Thanks for any help.

Found some notes on this from a few years ago;

6 and 14, +L and -L respectively.

8 and 15 +R and -R respectively.

7 is analog earth (i.e., for the balanced signals)

There's ~30 VAC across 5 and 13 for reasons which are a mystery to me (maybe this powers a quadlink'ed component or something?)

3 is digital earth.

12 unused

4 and 11 were labelled DBUS + and DBUS - though I am not sure what they are for.

Hope this helps - please note that I abandoned the project I got this info for (was going to interface to a balanced homebuilt DAC) so I never tsted this but it came from a reliable source. However, if you are nervous about creating smoke I can't guarantee it is correct.

Good luck!
