First of all, whilst these are not in mint condition, they’re certainly not too shabby and sound beautiful.

They were Quad serviced some years ago in 1989 but more recently checked over (February of this year) by my ‘go to’ valve amp. chap Dave Hunter of Classic valve Amps in Nottinghamshire. Dave thoroughly checked and tested the amps and sorted five capacitors that were identified as needing replacement. All work carried out is as described in the screenshot of the invoice at a cost of £160. A copy of the full invoice will of course be provided for provenance.

So, apart from any replacement parts as deemed necessary by Quad during the service they carried out in addition to the five capacitors as replaced by Dave, the amps can be described as original all but essential component replacements. This is my personal preferred approach to the servicing of classis vintage valve gear.

The two signal valves are Mullard, the KT66 are Shuguang and GZ32 NOS foreign made Brimars.

The amps come complete with power leads (I’ve attached the ground to the chassis) and professionally made 6 pin Jones to RCA plugs.

£825 delivered, £800 collected (Notts)

Plus if you saw the six pin plug first you might not recognise it as something you have ever used before .
