Quboz and Windows app stopping - am I doing something wrong?

Hope someone can help me.

I’m using the Quboz app for windows installed on a HP envy laptop. The digital signal is sent to a Topping USB DAC. I sign in to Quboz through my Studio subscription. Things sound OK and the sample rate updates correctly as seen by the DAC.

The problem is after a couple tracks the Quboz app stops with the ”play/pause” button just rotating as if buffering. I don’t have this issue when using my iPad as the source to Topping DAC, so doesn’t seem to be a network/ Wi-Fi issue.

Thankful for any thoughts or guidance.

I get this with my android phone app although without the circle thingy. Sometimes if I was watching it I saw a brief message saying there was a problem with the resolution or something but the same track would then play if I forced close the app and opened it again. I did used to Bluetooth it to an amp while I WFH but got so fed up with this I ended my Qobuz subscription and downloaded loads of rips to my phone instead and listen to them now. By saving £15 a month I'm effectively getting VFM from all the time spent ripping my CD collection which is pleasing.

Things to consider, in no particular order :)
Which output setting are you using ?
Which Topping dac and which Windows OS ?
is the firmware on the dac up to date and also is the Windows driver also up to date
Is the Laptop on ethernet ?

Thanks Lawrence, it’s nice to know I’m not alone.

Thanks Ronnie - much appreciate.
I’ll get the details and post.
Two quick answers:
The DAC is a Topping D10s and the lap is connected by Wi-Fi

First thing: try an Ethernet cable for connection ;)
Thanks Ronnie - can see that’s a sensible first step, however Quboz works fine via the desk top on the same lap top and using the app n the iPad……..and the laptop is Wi-Fi only; no ethernet socket!

But, and thanks to your questions I checked the Topping driver and updated / re-installed. I’ve been listening for about an hour and a half (including the new Craig Finn album all the way through) without a problem.

This is great news as it means I can safely invest in a better DAC - the Topping is OK, however it’s having to follow a recently sold Auralic Vega G2 and basically it’s obviously not as good, though no one should expect it to be!

Thanks again for replying - very much appreciated.
