Question about Exakt

I currently use an NG KDSM with passive speakers in our living room; the Exakt links are unused. I am wondering if I can place Linn Exakt speakers (such as a pair of Akubariks) in our basement and connect them to the Exakt links. It would be easy to run the cable(s) from the present location of the DSM to the intended location of the Akubariks. If this works, it would enable me to listen to the system both in its current location and in the basement. Any insights forum members have on whether this is feasible would be greatly appreciated.

Yes this works, but you cannot specify 2 different space optimisations if you use it.

I’m sure you can, I ran passive akubariks and 520 like this, and didn’t use space as both systems sounded great. Obviously when listening to the passive, it triggered the 520, so I usually turned them off. In the advent of so many cheap trade in Klimax hubs, it was tidier to go down that route.

In konfig, Linn account etc, should be possible to disable line out. In exakt you should assign to none the Exakt speakers… try it out.

Thank you for the replies. It is good to know, Suffolkboy, that you have used a similar setup. I don't think I will need to use SO in the basement, and would not be using the passive and exact speakers simultaneously, so I would just switch SO on/off depending on which speakers are in use.
