Looking to buy one but can they be used like normal home switches, plug and play, or do I need to be an IT geek 🤓, which I'm not.
Thanks. I've ordered one. I'll feed it via my older 2960 unit via fiber.I am by no means an IT expert but having read the details of the product they are designed by Cisco to be very easy to use. They claim that they are plug and play and unless you need to they do not require any setting tweaks . So I would say that you should have no real issues but if you want to you can tweek and fiddle to your hearts content . One plus is that they use cloud management so command line instructions to learn and remember .
Most people who actually try “ethernet optimisation” become converts. There are a surprising number who don’t/won’t try it because they “know” it can’t do anything. It doesn’t cost much at all to test it.Thanks. I've ordered one. I'll feed it via my older 2960 unit via fiber.
I'm become a believer in ethernet optimization after a few tests.
Talking of switches, did you ever compare the Zyxel ones? Or was it 4legs?Most people who actually try “ethernet optimisation” become converts. There are a surprising number who don’t/won’t try it because they “know” it can’t do anything. It doesn’t cost much at all to test it.
I didn't. I have both the 5-port and 8-port here but it's low on my priority list as the 8-port is not exactly expensive and it's hard to imagine the 5-port actually sounding cleaner.Talking of switches, did you ever compare the Zyxel ones? Or was it 4legs?
