Glad you’re getting on well with it. How are you finding the 24-70 f4L ?
It's a sweet and (relatively) small lens. Couldn't have stretched to the 2.8L and really wanted IS - it's fairly effective but certainly helps. The mate who's let me borrow it has the MkII 2.8L (with IS) which is significantly larger.

We're off to a party with some old muso mates down in the Cotswolds this evening where I've been roped into being official 'tog for the night. Will take the 6D with the 24-70, nifty fifty and the Ricoh GRIII. The 6D's low light performance is pretty good so am hoping it'll do the job ok.

If I ever change my 24-105 f4, I will probably get the 24-70 f4. The 24-105 is a great travel lens, a bit weak at 24mm. I know a few people who only use that lens and they have won international exhibition awards. The Sigma lenses now are meant to be very good, probably sharper than the Canons.

That’s what I’ve been thinking, the 24-105L is my go to lens but I am aware of its limitations.

Some are better than others it seems, mine is pretty sharp, good for portraits. At the wide angle, I have a 16-35 f4 which is pretty good, much better than the 17-40 I had previously.

My 24-105L is one of the originals, I did have a copy of the next generation lens when I bought my 5D2, but that wasn't quite as good as the original so sold it on. Only bought the body, when I upgraded to m y current 5D4. I swapped out my 17-40 for the 16-35 and as you say, it was much better. I would like a 24-105 that is as good as my 16-35! Might have to wait until I go mirrorless and get the new R series 24-105L.

Spent saturday evening at a party with some old muso colleagues, celebrating the 50th birthday of a great friend (and superb Tenor player). Many of us got to have a toot with the band, who are quite probably one of the best funk/soul bands in the UK, having the best time.

Anyway, a few pics...

Top of the Moors, somewhere near The Tan Hill Inn.

For a long time that was my favourite pub, cycled up to it many times, in sun, snow and gales.
Water bottles once froze up whilst we drank.
Not up so often now and it is becoming another type of pub.
