So i thought i would dive into music streaming with the above set up. I've added a justboom Digihat to feed it into my Beresford Bushmaster 2. First impressions are awful Im using the Volumio App as a controller. Wont play 24/96/or 24/192 without constant stuttering, Also can get halfway through a song and then skip to the next one. App freezes constantly. Have read such good reports from this type of set up and Volumio so just wondering if there is something i am missing in set up etc.

Many thanks for any advice.

I ran Volumio on a Pi Zero for a while and had no problems of that kind, but most of what I play is CD res so that may make a difference. I think @greybeard runs Volumio on his Pi 4 - he may have a view.

Unfortunately I no longer do, I use MoOde audio now, which was a bit tricky to setup compared with volumio, but works fine with all hi-res  files, I use Qobus. But I also have a Raspberry Pi 4b 2gb, not a 3, which could be the problem. I also have an ethernet connection not wi-fi.

The only reason I changed from Volumio, was the small charge they made, to use their software with Qobuz/Tidal. I never had any issues, with using it for hi-res  streaming though.

Can you please describe your set up a little more.

Which raspberry pi, how is it connected to the network, what music files are you trying to play, how are they connected to the network (if they are).

Which version of volumio are you using.

Are you using the wireless AP (Is that the Volumio App?)

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the info. I am currently using a Pi 3b connected via wifi using it for purely streaming Qobuz with the latest version of Volumio via the Volumio android app as a controller. I've got some spare time today so will maybe try a fresh install or give MoOde a try.

Many thanks

Try an ethernet cable connection or maybe a usb wireless dongle if you have one

do volumio have a fee based Qobuz app? it might offer better integration

Unfortunately my router is not within Ethernet distance to my set up. Volumio app was a couple of quid. I will have a tinker today and let you know my findings.

Many thanks

So just spent the morning setting up MoOde on my Raspberry Pi changed nothing else other than MoOde from Volumio and im streaming Qobuz via an app called mconnect. Working faultlessly will sit down tonight for a good listen but first impressions seem brilliant.

Many thanks for all the help guys.

The SQ with MoOde is very good indeed, I hardly listen to CD anymore. Glad you are sorted 😊
