I am listening to an early Stones album which proudly proclaims’from DSD Master’. The same master, I think, as used for the SACD versions of their early albums. Freely available for £20 ish. How, exactly, do these differ from MoFi DSD LP’s?

Not to defend anything really, but there is a lot more to the cost and sell out price of an LP than just the source.

Mo-fi may argue that they have taken more care with the transfer and pressing processes. I am not saying that is the case.

It's up to you to investigate. If you're happy with it, who cares?

What master? There were several master tapes for those SACD releases as most of the early records had different UK/USA releases and the master tapes (plural) were all over the world. There was no single magic master tape, as there rarely is for these albums. There's no guarantee that the Mofi ones were made from the same source as the SACD releases.
