wetting agent is anything thats breaks the surface tension of the liquid, but photographic chemicals do a 'clean' safe wetting agent imaginatively called wetting agent. A drop of Fairy might be ok too esp if you're vacuum cleaning.

If you were making up a litre, try 890ml distilled water, 100ml alcohol and about 10ml of wetting agent. Shaken, not stirred.

I use x1 part Iso to x4 parts H20 with x3 or 4 drops of Triton (photoflow) for a 100ml small squirt bottle

I have always used purified water from the pharmacy (around £4 for 5l) and have neverhad any streaking problems.

Go easy with that photograph stuff. You really only need a couple of drops, 3-4 per litre, otherwise you end up in a sudfest.

My mix,3ltr purified water,1ltr IPA,5mm rinse aid or fairy liquid, have been using this for > 20 years with no problems whatsoever and don't worry about the salt content as 5mm diluted in 4ltr will have no effect at all,I also make a 2ltr water and 1ltr IPA mix for really bad LP's if the above doesn't shift the crap.
