These are stunning amps to look at, with amazing build quality. They have had a recent service from Essex Amps (Icon Audio approved engineers) and I have the receipt for proof of work. The XLR sockets were replaced as part of the service, and all the resistors were re-soldered to sort some dry solder issues.
The M88Q is still available new in the new model name called Dark KT88-4. These newer versions come with Mundorf caps, rather than the Dueland on mine. These are currently for sale at $8000 USD!
These amps also have SIX very expensive Dueland JDM caps installed. I have receipt from hifi collective for them.
Condition is good, but one has a small chip in the paint at the rear which is completely out of sight.
The amps are 80w each, so very powerful. The amps are fully auto biasing which is a real boon. I have have the original valve cages.
These replaced a huge class A Plinius amp. The quality of sound stage on these amps is really special and beats all transistor amps that I have heard. The midrange is also very special.
Supplied with Black Treasure KT88 amps for the price. They are around 1.5 years old, so will need replacing relatively soon.
The supplied 12AU7 tubes are stock Chinese ones.
I have the original boxes but collection from CB11 3QY is preferred.
Price reduced to £1900.
