Repair needed..interconnect gone dead.

Hey peeps. I can do nothing DIY when it comes to hifi. But i need a repair on an interconnect which went crackly then stopped working. Anyone who can do this or recommendations. Closer to me is better, Liverpool but no problem sending out. So not your run of the mill, and well worth saving . Cheers me dears. Graham.

It's an interconnect. It's either shorted or it's open circuit. You could fix it in minutes, without paying someone else a fortune.

I think you are putting a very strong and not at all accurate impression to Keith's very kind offer . You have no idea what if anything he would charge and in my experience with Keith he is a very generous and decent Wammer whose first thought is to help. Graham does not have confidence to do this himself and has asked for help , Keith has made a very decent offer to help . If your point is that all wires are the same and there is no point in expensive cables then fair enough just say that , to imply that Keith would charge a fortune to complete the repair is not something you have exact knowledge of and is almost certainly not true .

I’m now in possession on the said cable after a brew with Graham and a short listen to his impressive system. At no point was money mentioned or hinted at etc (by either side) so your assumption Phil is way off the mark and a little insulting

I didn't have any intention of insulting Keith (and admit that I don't know him, so am unqualified to comment on his expertise). I just don't get that an interconnect should require specialist attention, no matter what brand of unobtainium it is made of. It either carries signal or it doesn't, and I've already given reasons why it wouldn't which are easily tested with a multimeter. Anyway if Keith feels that I owe him an apology I'll offer him one.

Hulloo me lovelies. I would like to thank Andy for looking out for both Keith and I and for being a super nice bloke, Keith for picking up the interconnects, and being a super nice bloke, and Phil for also watching out for me. i dont know Phil, but I think his heart is in the right place.
