The actual drivers used are the same, but the crossover is much better in the music series, and it does work better! I went from R33 > Music 3, and the improvements are big.

They look much better too.

I owned a pair of R16's for six months powered by a Pathos Classic One and they sounded gorgeous for £350. Coherent, well-integrated sound and very smooth treble for budget speakers. Not bass monsters (but then neither is the Pathos), but highly recommended to non-headbangers.

I would say the treble in the music series is better still, and probably slightly smoother. Its a better sound all round.

The Revolver range of speakers is one othe most cost effective set of bargains out there . If you go to the London hifi show in September the special prices will have you reaching for your wallet. Oh and you get to hear them in situ

Just bought a pair of RW16's on the Bay for £50, with one broken terminal. Should arrive by friday

I think you mean wouldn’t Phil ! I was surprised at the low interest. There were other watchers, but I was the only bidder The bottom edges look a bit tatty, but I’m not that bothered. I’m sure a minor refurb will do the job. I searched around for other Revolver speakers, but there aren’t really any in the UK, so either they’re keepers or in landfill!

They arrived today. Blimey, they’re heavy! Quickly knocked up some cable links for the biwire terminals and put them on Concept 20 stands. A pretty amazing £50 bargain. Mine are dark cherry, which looks very classy. Phil, did you take the tweeter covers off? I didn’t notice at first, but there’s a transparent diffraction ring stuck to the inside. Makes me want to find some other Revolvers of that range and above

Revolver make fantastic speakers and I would be confident of worthwhile improvements as you go up the range. Ive demoed the Music 5 and live with a wonderful pair of floorstanders from the Audiovue range in my second system.

no i never took the covers off as it gave protection. i really like these speakers . at some point they need a new home !!! they sounded lovely on the end of a modest teac here

These are really nice speakers! Got them facing straight, no toe in. The more I listen, the more impressed I am. Surprisingly, I haven't had to change the crossover frequency of my sub. According to specs, they go as low as my Talismans, which is bit of a shock
