Morning all
About 18 months ago, I received some excellent help from various forum members relating to my first foray into using REW.
Following a change of speakers, I thought it would be opportune to rerun the measurements.
I guess it’s of no real surprise that not having using REW for 18 months, my memory of what I did at the time has dulled a little and this is despite me having re-read my earlier 6 page thread, re-read the REW instructions and watching several YT videos.
This time round, I have just one question that I can’t be sure about and it’s stopping me moving forward.
I have a UMIK USB mic and have the mic calibration file.
Could someone very kindly confirm that there is no need to calibrate the sound card in the laptop when using a USB mic?
Thanks

Confirmed - there's no need for that. I believe the assumption is that the sound card's linearity is at least as good as (and probably much better than) the calibrated mic.

What speakers did you get?
After a lot of indecision, i went for a pair of Celestion 44s. Happy with them and shouldn’t need anything doing -the drivers are in good condition and the previous owner refurbed the x-overs. Not sure how long I’ll keep them.
