Rike Audio S-Cap 0.47uF 600V VDC aluminium foil paper in oil capacitors x2 and 4x 0.22uF for sale. On eBay at the below links:

SOLD

Bought from HiFi Collective a couple of months ago. Used for approx 100 hours in a Jolida valve amp to test.

These capacitors are very warm tonally and provide excellent bass. If your system is bit bright I would highly recommend these as the top end appeared a little rolled off / soft. That may just be my be system as well. UK retail is £24.60 each.

Rike Audio are based in Germany, they manufacture seriously high end valve equipment. To help them achieve the sound they wanted they decided to create their very own paper in oil capacitors. After 5 years of development, George Arsine and his team arrived at the Rike Audio S-Cap. A truly powerful and dynamic sound over the entire frequency band.

The S-Cap is manufactured in Germany, employing experienced capacitor winders using high quality materials and modern methods of manufacture. Continuous advancement in a state of the art production and research environment ensure the constant top-level product quality. Primarily the S-Cap is an Aluminium paper in oil with a double-layered dielectric, it is designed for 630Vdc rated use and has 10% tolerance. Every capacitor is tested with a test voltage of 1625Vdc.

Hi

I also had the chance to try some of these Rike caps in the input of a preamp, I´ve tried Alu s-cap, which were very dynamic and foreward presenting, and I didn´t miss any high freqs, and I even had the chance to compare them to Q-cap copper PIO. These sound more neutral, very musical and as open Door said, in a bright cirquit, they sound wonderful.

Compared to Jupiter Bee Wax or Duelund RS the Rike Q-cap sound darker, not that open but in the right cirquit this is exactly what I like. It always depends on the whole chain and personal taste. Audyn Intertechnik also sounded more open, but the Rike had more bottom and more musical power (hard to find words in a foreign language.... I wiill make a comparison between Rike Q-cap PIO and Rike Q-cap Popypropylene soon...

I have had the chance to listen to Q-cap Polyprop vs PIO. This is a very interesting pair of caps indeed. There is a difference. The Polyprops sound modern in a good sense, very good bottom and the upper freqs ar not extremely in the foreground. In an open sounding cirwquit, this makes sense. A very good capacitor, indeed.

But in my ears, the PIO are even a little better, little more open in a very very musical way, but not sharp. Wonderfull flowing and livelike, natural and dynamic.

The choice always depends on the rest of the chain and personal taste , But these are my favourites now.

It´s fun to listen with both of them and I´m really looking foreward to the time, when they are burned in...
